Multi-unit Franchise Owner Celebrates a Decade of Helping Families

Pennsylvania franchisee Tracy Panase’s sales have topped $13.2 million, helping more than 300,000 families

For the Just Between Friends franchise, “helping others” is more than a slogan; it’s the founding principle at the very heart of our company. Our business model is based on altruism; by helping more than 1 million families nationwide save money on buying children’s clothing, games, toys, maternity, and baby gear, we have become the leading pop-up consignment franchise in North America.
We want our owners to be financially successful, and we have found that financial success comes from taking care of their own communities — those people they care about the most. In fact, our top-selling franchisee, Tracy Panase in Pennsylvania, bears out this reality.
In business for 10 years with a total of four franchises, Panase has helped more than 300,000 families buy and sell items with sales topping $13.2 million.
Here’s a look at the Pennsylvania sales, by the numbers, during the past decade:

Oaks/Western Mainline:

Nearly 18,000 consignors/sellers
More than 120,000 shoppers
They bought and sold more than $6.8 million in gently used and new kids/maternity items.
Most of this money goes into the pockets of local families.
Total days open from 2009 to 2018 — less than 80 days!

Panase later added events in Lower Bucks area and Lancaster. All combined, they have helped more than 300,000 families buy and sell items with more than $13.2 million in sales. These four franchises topped $1 million in gross sales last year, with the Western Mainline and Reading sales claiming the two top spots on our Top Ten Sales list.

“These numbers reinforce what JBF is all about: being a productive member of local communities, investing in the lives of the people who live there,” says Shannon Wilburn, co-founder and CEO of JBF. “We are so very proud of Tracy and the sales she runs. Truly, she is a phenomenal franchisee and a fantastic representative of our brand. It’s so gratifying to partner with Tracy — and other franchisees like her all over the country — to make a difference for families.”

JBF sales partner with local nonprofits

All JBF owners care about their communities. So it’s an easy next step that when our owners set up their sales events, they partner with a local nonprofit. Our consignors and team members donate items and goods to local organizations that help local women, children and families. Over the years, we have been able to give back an estimated $25 million in cash and in-kind donations to dozens of nonprofits nationwide — $4.9 million in 2017 alone!

“Our customers grow to know and trust us because they don’t see us a business, but as an arm into the community,” says Panase. “We work really hard to partner with local nonprofits, over 200 charities and local faith-based organizations, and so our customers have a sense that we really are giving back because they know that our donations are going to stay and help the community and benefit a local need.”
