Learn From Failure
I am sure by now that you have heard – probably more than once – about the Steve Harvey mix-up at Miss Universe. Making a mistake is tough enough but to make it on an international stage followed by a social media blitz that surpassed “Star Wars” posts magnifies that mistake exponentially. The fact is, we all mess up. We all make mistakes. We all fail at one point or another. I admire that Steve owned up to the mistake – immediately – and took responsibility for it. That is a big first step to redemption any time you make a mistake. In business, it is often said if you don’t fail you don’t grow. I believe that wholeheartedly. But when you are in the midst of that failure, it can be devastating and hard to take the next step. So what do you do?
