Just Between Friends Franchise Named a Prestigious FBR50 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards Winner
Just Between Friends franchisees are among the most satisfied nationwide
Just Between Friends franchisees rank as one of the most satisfied in the nation, according to Franchise Business Review’s recently released FBR50 — Franchisee Satisfaction Awards, an annual rating that is considered to be the go-to guide for entrepreneurs weighing their investment options looking for a standout franchise.
The Franchise Business Review‘s annual Franchisee Satisfaction Awards are the only franchise ranking based on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. For this year’s top franchise list, the business review surveyed more than 30,000 actual franchise owners, representing 334 leading franchise brands, to identify the Top 50 Franchises.
“We are thrilled to be among the Top 50 mainly because this comes from the franchisees themselves. Really, it’s an honor,” says Shannon Wilburn, co-founder and CEO of Just Between Friends. “It validates our greater mission of saving families money on clothing, and I think our franchisees feel empowered because they are making a huge impact on their communities.”
The FBR50 survey results were based on performance as measured by franchisee satisfaction. “Of all the franchises we research each year, only the very best make it onto our awards list. It’s a pretty exclusive club of today’s leading franchise brands,” says Franchise Business Review President Michelle Rowan.
Just Between Friends is the leading pop-up consignment sales event franchise in North America.
“We owe that to a couple of factors”, Shannon says. “First, the Great Recession forced families to stretch every dollar they took home. Next, thrift-store shopping and discount and bargain shopping, no longer have the stigma they once had. Consumers are more savvy than ever”, Shannon says.
From our beginnings in a Tulsa living room in 1997, the Just Between Friends brand has grown to 153 franchises in the U.S. and Canada. By helping families buy and sell their children’s outgrown clothing, maternity items and baby gear, children’s games and toys, and much, much more, we became a nationally recognized brand and have been featured on a wide variety of national media outlets, such as the Today show and Good Morning America. Our franchise model is unique in that there is a low investment to join, and our franchisees can choose between a significant and supplemental, part-time income or a franchise as a full-time career.
Many of our franchisees were at one time a customer at one of our hundreds of events held nationwide. Laura Staggs, owner of four Just Between Friends franchises in Colorado, says she is able to run her business and still be a mom. “The beautiful thing about my job is I can take my kids to school, go to their after-school activities. I love what I do because I am helping other moms and dads like myself.”
Initial entry fees for the Just Between Friends franchise are minimal compared with other retail franchises. Our system works to suit the needs and schedules of its owners. There is a minimum requirement of holding two sales per year, which can serve as supplemental income and flexible involvement. Want to be more involved? Franchisees can make it a full-time career path.
The U.S. franchise fee is $14,900, and in Canada it is $16,900. Royalties are 3% of gross sales. Both fees and royalties are much less than the industry average franchise fee of $35,000 and average royalties of 6%-8% of gross sales. In addition to the franchise fees listed above, we estimate you will need $18,000-$22,000 in capital for materials to launch your first event.
